The Calp Town Council has commissioned a new artistic intervention in the old town, intended as a tribute to the elderly and highlighting their role in transmitting traditions and values.
This large-format mural, located on Vicente Gallart Street, stands out for its vibrant colors and joyful energy, bringing vitality to the urban environment. The artwork includes the central message: “Gràcies per sembrar la terra que ens ha fet créixer” (Thank you for sowing the land that has made us grow), a direct allusion to the efforts of parents and grandparents and the respect for the legacy they have built for current generations.
The mural was created by renowned Valencian painters Susa Alcántara and Nayra López Martos. The project presented a considerable technical challenge due to the dimensions of the facade, which reaches a height of 7 meters. The artists required specialized lifting equipment to translate their creative vision across the entire surface.
The mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, along with the councilor for the revitalization of the Old Town, Guillermo Sendra, visited the mural to congratulate the artists and agreed on the importance of this work, which not only enhances the town's artistic heritage but also serves as a lasting reminder of gratitude towards the town's oldest residents.
With this new addition, Calp's Old Town continues to strengthen its commitment to urban art as a driving force for tourism and cultural revitalization.
