St. John’s Eve. It has been celebrated in Calpe since 1991. It is the shortest night of the year, coinciding with the summer solstice, when numerous rituals rooted in ancient customs take place.

It has been celebrated since ancient times and is organized by a local family.
On the eve of the feast of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of La Cometa, a bonfire is made from chairs, tables, and other unused objects, and is set alight in the evening to celebrate the arrival of summer.
