All of house 1 had marble floors, but these are only extant in two of the rooms.
Marble was also used in thresholds and skirting boards.
The first room was paved with "marmor caristium" or "cipollino", brought from Greece.
Years later, it was repaired with "greco scritto" Algerian marble, probably reused from another building.
The second room has a floor of "opus sectile", a geometric decoration obtained from the combination of numerous marbles: "lapis lacedaemonius" or "serpentine" from Greece, "red porphyry" from Egypt, "marmor numidicum" or "giallo antico" from Chemtou in Tunisia, "greco scritto" from Hippo in Algeria and "marmor proconnesium" from the island of Marmara in Turkey.
Mouldings, some in marmor taenarium or "rosso antico" from the southern Peloponnese, and plant motifs, which presumably adorned dwellings and balnea, are frequently found.
